PB3 Feedback

Part 1:
Overall I thought my research presentation went pretty well! My persistent use of the common filler “um” rolls off my tongue despite how much I practice or feel comfortable, but I appreciate you all looking past that and giving me such kind words. It was a great experience being able to talk about my passions with the rest of the class while conjointly showing them a perspective that they might not have considered. In regards to the feedback I received from the class, it was a mixed bag; overall, however, everything my peers said was constructive and I took away a few things that I hope to shed light on in my research. For instance, one classmate commented that he/she wanted to know more about “…how exactly is the saber metrics impacting the managers decision[s] in a good or bad way.” This is exactly the sort of topic that I need to delve a little deeper into, and for my updated sources I included a few that deal with this specifically. Other feedback touched on my research question which some felt was too broad. I totally agree with this line of thinking. In order to get my research going I think I need to do something feasible, or small-scale. With that being said, I updated my research question to focus specifically on college baseball because of the bountiful resources made available to me by our institution.

Part 2:
How does management and coaching use Sabermetrics to optimize decision making in the MLB?  →  How can the implementation of Sabermetric practices in a college baseball clubhouse optimize decision making?
